OK Roots Music Presents Dom Flemons Duo

Join us for night two of OK Roots’ 6th annual Wine and Jazz Fete on Friday, June 7, featuring Dom Flemons Duo.

As a resolute preservationist, storyteller, and instrumentalist, Dom Flemons has long set himself apart by finding forgotten folk songs and making them live again. Lauded with a GRAMMY win and two EMMY nominations, he is widely known as the American Songster, since his repertoire covers over a century of early American popular music. Flemons is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, actor, slam poet, music scholar, historian, and record collector. Equally virtuosic on the banjo, guitar, harmonica, jug, percussion, quills, fife and rhythm bones, Flemons is host of the American Songster Radio show on Nashville’s WSM Radio. His latest, Traveling Wildfire, is his first album since 2018’s Black Cowboys and second for Smithsonian Folkways. A co-founder of his former band, Carolina Chocolate Drops, with bandmate Rhiannon Giddens, Flemons is originally from Phoenix and currently lives in the Chicago area with his family.

Before the Dom Flemons performance, sample 4 sustainably produced fine wines. Sommelier extraordinaire Sarah Effinger, of Provisions Fine Beverage Purveyors, will take you through each wine. Your ticket includes entry to Dom's concert immediately following the wine tasting. As a wine tasting participant, you get in before the general public & will sit in the front section.
