Instrumentalists and singers are invited to celebrate Women’s History Month during Free Energy Night on Wednesday, March 27. Play the tunes of notable female musicians Mahalia Jackson, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughn; and learn about their impact on the jazz industry. Educator, saxophonist, and composer Mike Cameron and vocalist Janet Rutland will lead the session. If you want to learn the songs before Free Energy Night, here are the music sheets. You are not required to know the songs beforehand.

The songs include:

Come Sunday - Mahalia Jackson

Dont Explain, God Bless the Child - Billie Holiday

Don't Get Around Much Anymore, Take the A Train - Ella Fitzgerald

Misty - Sarah Vaughn

Free Energy: All-Ages Jazz Jam is held every second and fourth Wednesday of the month! All ages are encouraged to bring their instrument and join the fun. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience unique collaborations between different generations and genres.

LowDown provides a state-of-the-art sound system, Yamaha C7 grand piano, bass amp, and drum set. Guitar players must provide their own amp and guitar.
